The chairman, Senate committee on Ecology and Environment, Dr Bukola Saraki, has denied rumour of plan by him to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Saraki dissociated himself from any link or manipulation to return to the troubled PDP.
The senator, who was an arrow head of the new PDP which later merged with the All Progressives Progress Congress (APC), declared that “insinuations that we are pleading to come back to the PDP can only exist in the infantile imagination of those behind the rumour.
“It is clear to all Nigerians by now that what we have engaged ourselves with is not the politics of the stomach, as that must be the pastime of those who sat down to author such wild rumour.”
Saraki, in a statement signed by an APC’s chieftain, Prince Yemi Afolayan, added that “I want to assure my people across the length and breath of Kwara State that we have decided together to move with the tide of time; we are in a secure where we are now and the changes in the leadership of PDP are not enough to make us change that decision.
“Those who are peddling rumour about our change of course are only doing so because they are afraid of their looming failure in the coming weeks when their paymaster will have realised how impotent they are in the political calculations of Kwara.
“I urge my people to disregard them and go about the task of building a formidable APC in the state.”
