Man, 40, arrested with human parts in Ogun

It was the end of the road for a  40-year-old  suspected ritualist in Iyana Egbado Village, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State as he was allegedly caught with human parts.

The suspect, who was identified  as Gbenga was caught under a bridge along the Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway, Itori-Ewekoro road on Wednesday  with a polythene bag containing human parts.

Sunnewsonline.com gathered that the suspected ritualist would have been lynched by the villagers but for the timely arrival of a Police team which arrested him and took him away to an unknown destination.

He was said to have attempted to kill a woman for ritual when nemesis caught up with him in the early hours of Wednesday when the woman shouted for help.

It was the alarm raised by the woman in captivity that attracted villagers and workers to the scene of the incident during which strange objects and human parts like decomposing intestines, ladies under wears, assorted male and female shoes, blood-stained dresses and several other items were uncovered.

The suspect, who was said to have been living under the bridge, pretending to be a mad man for the past nine months later pleaded for understanding as he confessed that he would co-operate with them.

A witness identified as Samuel Oladele later brought out a mobile telephone phone which he used to put  a call through to some unknown people.

Oladele further told sunnewsonline.com  that the suspect  confessed to  belonging to a five -man syndicate who operated within the Ewekoro axis in the past months.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi who confirmed the arrest of the suspect said the state Police Commissioner, Ikemefuna Okoye had ordered that the suspect be brought to the state police command for further investigations.

He appealed to members of the public to avoid “jungle justice”, promising that the matter would be investigated and appropriate steps taken.
