The Obafemi Awolowo Foundation has expressed shock at the death of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.
A statement signed by the Executive Director of the Foundation, Dr. Olatokunbo Awolowo Dosumu, described the late emir as one of the foundation’s founding patrons.
“Awolowo Foundation has received with shock, the death of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.
“Alhaji Ado Bayero was, until his death, one of the founding patrons of the Awolowo Foundation.
“For us at the Foundation, his death is a monumental loss. Alhaji Bayero was always supportive at every point in time when the Foundation had reasons to put together any programme for the advancement of our society. He will be sorely missed,” the Awo Foundation stated.
