Spain have been eliminated from the World Cup with a game to spare after a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Chile.
Eduardo Vargas capped off a slick team move to put Chile in the lead early in the first-half, cutting onto his right foot to send Iker Casillas sprawling before slamming the ball past him.
Chile doubled their lead just before half-time, Casillas parrying Alexis Sanchez’s free-kick straight into the path of Charles Aranguiz, who toe-poked the ball past the goalkeeper’s despairing dive.
