The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, and the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan, have been summoned by the Panel of Enquiry on Public Peace and Disturbance set up by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

The first civilian governor of the state, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, had petitioned the commission, alleging that he was assaulted by Omisore, Adesiyan and one Sogo Agboola at Ideal Nest Hotel in Osogbo.

The three-man panel headed by Justice Moshood Adekunle Adeigbe at its inaugural sitting on Wednesday said it received eight petitions, three of which were from Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

Among the petitioners were Balogun Jenyo, Balogun Fagbemi and Balogun Agoro, who had through their counsel, Mr. Tajudeen Ganikale, urged the commission to investigate the declaration of Balogun of Osogbo chieftaincy title.

Ganikale, in a 27-paragrph affidavit, urged the commission to summon the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Mr. Wale Afolabi; the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Osogbo Local Government before it.

However, chairman of the commission, Justice Adeigbe, directed the Secretary, Mr. Bisi Babalola, to serve all the respondents notice before the next sitting, while all the petitioners were advised to submit their memoranda.

The sitting of the commission was adjourned till July 1.
