ABUJA—THE Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Thursday, denied that Senator Kanti Bello was expelled as it was insinuated in some quarters.

The party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Engr. Rotimi Fashakin, described the rumour as untrue and handiwork of mischief makers.

Faskakin said: “Our attention has been drawn to the erroneous insinuations that Senator Kanti Bello has been expelled from the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC. This is nothing but a piece of bunkum. It is absolutely untrue.

“We hereby state unequivocally that Senator Kanti Bello remains a bona-fide member of the party and expected to contribute to the growth and harmony of the party in Katsina state and Nigeria. The expulsion allegation should therefore be discarded as a piece of fiction, lacking efficacy”.

The party alleged that mischief makers were bent  on causing disaffection among party members as the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Katsina State chapter of the CPC, Engr. Farouk Adamu Aliyu, denied knowledge of Bello’s expulsion.

“The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Katsina State chapter of the CPC, Hon. (Engr.) Farouk Adamu Aliyu, denied ever signing such expulsion order.

“This explains why we believe this rumour, which was intended to cause disaffection among our teeming supporters, was the handiwork of mischief makers,” he added.
