PORT HARCOURT— Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Samuel Kanu in his address yesterday, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at the opening of the 44th conference of the Methodist church, Nigeria advised the Federal Government to declare full scale state of emergency in “any state where there is unnecessary unrest.”
He added that it would make governors wake up to their responsibilities as chief security officers of their various states.
The Prelate said that the motive behind the killings by Boko Haram and Fulani gunmen in the Northern part of the country was to Islamise the nation and make it ungovernable.
He urged the church to continue to pray for leaders and asked the political class to put national interest first.
