Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State says he has not dropped the plan to probe how the past administration of Mr. Segun Oni allegedly embezzled the state fund.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Tayo Ekundayo, told journalists in Ado Ekiti on Friday.
He said the administration would not drop the plan because doing so would give other corrupt persons the leeway to embezzle government fund.
The commissioner noted that although he said in Efon Alaaye on Thursday that God’s punishment would be more severe on those who looted the state fund, he added that the probe had not been abandoned.
He said, “Governor Kayode Fayemi has zero tolerance for corruption and he has always said anybody who embezzles government’s money would not go free. This government has not dropped the probe plan. Those who took micro-credit loans and refused to repay would be made to face the music.”
