Barely two days after the declaration of emergency rule in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa states by President Goodluck Jonathan, suspected terrorists yesterday launched bomb attacks on targets in Daura municipal area of Katsina State.
Sources disclosed that two police stations , a branch of First Bank in the town and Daura Central Prison were among the places bombed. It was gathered that the blast started around 10pm yesterday and lasted for over two hours.
Although casualty level could not be ascertained by the time of this report, it was gathered that the pandemonium sent people fleeing in all directions.

It was further gathered that sound of bombs are still being heard, a situation which forced residents to live in panic.
A resident of Daura who sought anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter told our correspondent that “the situation is terrible. As I talk to you, bombs are still exploding. There are reported cases of casualties in Tashar Yamma area but of course we can’t really tell until tomorrow morning”.
Last night’s attack brought the total bomb incident to three in the state, after previous attacks on Kankara and Rimi police station.
Daura is the quiet home town of former Head of State, Gen Muhammadu Buhari.
