Enough is enough, ACF tells sect

As Muslims all over the world celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has called on the Islamist sect, Boko Haram to lay down their arms in the interest of peace andSallah celebration.

In a statement issued and signed by the Publicity Secretary of the Forum, Muhammad Ibrahim, it equally urged Boko Haram to embrace dialogue with the Federal Government, saying it is enough of the onslaught on innocent citizens.

The northern mouthpiece also expressed gratitude to the military men fighting the insurgency in the North East and urged them to maintain the tempo till the end is found to Boko Haram crisis.

The statement said: “ACF calls on the insurgents to heed the call by Mr. President in his independence anniversary broadcast to lay down their arms and to embrace dialogue.

“ACF commends the gallant effort of our security forces in combating the insurgency in the North East and calls on them to sustain the onslaught to dislodge the terrorists from the occupied territories of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states.

“Nigeria is in a trying period of insecurity, which has adversely affected our socio-economic and political development especially, in the Northern Region, hence the need to fervently pray for peace, stability, prosperity, and equally remember the plight of internally displaced persons in various refugee camps as a result of the terrorist activities.”
