A member of in the National Assembly, representing Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa-Eggon Federal Constituency from Nasarawa State, Honourable David Ombugadu, on Saturday, asked the state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to resign for his failure to tackle the incessant killings and insecurity bedeviling the state since his assumption of office in 2011.

He made this known during his visit to the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Yunana Iliya at the party secretariat, on Lafia-Jos road, in Lafia Local Government Area of the state.

The parliamentarian, who lamented that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led current administration in the state had failed in terms of security challenges, said the only option for the governor, as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the state, was to resign from the exalted position.

Honourable Ombugadu,  also called on the warring factions within the PDP to sheathe their swords in the best interest of peace, progress and development of the state.

While responding, the state chairman of the party, Chief Iliya, pledged to provide a level playing ground for all the aspirants during the upcoming party`s primaries.

The PDP boss admonished the party chieftains and political office seekers to call their supporters to order by maintaining decorum at all times with a view to ensuring that peace reign supreme in the state.

According to him, all hands must be on deck to ensure the success of the party during the primaries and secondary elections, as “PDP is the only party that can deliver the state from twin problems of insecurity and poverty”.
