UGHELLI—NATIONAL Coordinator of Campaign for Good Governance, Prince Obaro Unuafe, yesterday said the spate of criticisms over President Goodluck Jonathan’s policies were subjective, appealing to Nigerians to allow the President to carry out his transformational agenda.
Unuafe in a statement, said: “the Campaign for Good Governance is worried about critics of Jonathan’s policies and wishes to note that these outbursts are borne out of sheer personal malice or a desire to play politics with the collective destiny of Nigerians.
“It is easy to see some remarkable achievements of the Jonathan’s administration. The planned privatisation of Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, and the successful bidding by several distribution companies (DISCOS) and other generation companies (GENCOS) is revolutionary as Nigeria is set to repeat the feat of the telecommunication industry.
“The railway sector has also received a boost with the delivery of several coaches and construction of additional standard gauges.
The pilot delivery of containers of goods from Lagos to the North is salutary after 35 years of inactivity of the Railway Corporation.
“The success recorded by government in the security sector is also commendable.”
Aside the declaration of state of emergency in some areas of the North, government has recorded a success against the onslaught of Boko Haram insurgency with the reported dislodging of their leaders and destruction of their hideouts.
“The commencement of the second Niger Bridge is a fulfillment of a promise of over two decades. It will no doubt bring succour to inhabitants of the Eastern flank of the country that have yearned for the project for so long.
“The reconstruction and opening of the Enugu International Airport and commencement of flights by Ethiopian airlines is a landmark achievement that shows that the Jonathan administration is working.”
