The Governor of Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, on Wednesday, announced the sacking of the State Commissioner for Urban Development, Mr Tammy Danagogo.
A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. David Iyofor, indicated that the sacking was with immediate effect.
The governor directed Danagogo to handover immediately to the Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Urban Development.
Though no reason was given for the termination of Danagogo’s appointment, the sacking might not be unconnected with recent report that the commissioner had defected to the group loyal to the Supervising Minister of Education, Chief Nyesom Wike.
“Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has sacked the Commissioner for Urban Development, Mr. Tammy Danagogo.
“The Governor directs (Mr.) Danagogo to handover immediately to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Urban Development,” the statement read.
