PORT HARCOURT: A delegate from Rivers State at the ongoing national confab, Mr. Isaac Osuaka, has accused Governor Chibuike Amaechi of abandoning conferees from the state at the confab because of his political difference with President Goodluck Jonathan.
Mr. Osuoka, who spoke yesterday in Port Harcourt, at a forum tagged Niger Delta consultative meeting with delegates to the national confab, said it was sad that conferees from the state had no support secretariat set up by the state government to assist them with intellectual materials.
He said: “The governor of Rivers State has abandoned the state’s delegates to the national conference. He has taken personal political fight to such a ridiculous extent that we don’t have a Rivers State secretariat at the confab. Other governors are supporting their states delegates in Abuja with a secretariat.”
According to Osuoka, governors of political parties that kicked against the confab at the begining were supporting their conferees with experts in various fields to ensure they canvassed very strong positions in the conference for the benefit of their people.
Continuing, Osuoka said they were working to see that the Land Use Act was expunged from the constitution. According to him, the Land Use Act was of concern to various sections of the country.
